Innovation

Home to the most comprehensive array of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs in the state, IUPUI has dramatically expanded our offerings at the graduate level, adding a record 11 doctoral programs in the past year.

Many of these programs have grown in response to workforce needs in the industrial, nonprofit, and academic sectors. The new doctoral program in American studies is a key example. This program fills a gap, training leaders for the nonprofit sector. Students in this and many other programs finish their coursework with valuable hands-on experience as they conduct research and apply their learning in support of area nonprofits. It’s a win-win for the community and IUPUI students.

By virtue of their education, these and all IUPUI students join intellectual conversations that have been going on for millennia, adding their diverse voices to these conversations. Of course, IUPUI students do more than talk. They sculpt and translate, analyze and calculate, measure and fabricate as they prepare for their successful futures.

Our time at IUPUI has allowed us to grow by providing a foundation to build upon. We have gained a sense of who we are and who we would like to become.
